I would appreciate your advice. Three of the pups from my last litter are living within easy reach (unusual for me) and I am lucky enough to be able to look after them when their owners go on holiday etc. A treat seeing them growing up. Pups are now 18 months old ( I know, but I suppose they will always be "pups" to me) and recently I had two litter mates staying at the same time. They had an absolute ball. Playing with each other and with mum and grandma with no problems at all. Mum flattens them occasionally if they step out of line, but they totally accept that so there are no issues there. Its just that one girl, who is fine here in every way, when she returns home she starts to soil, not just at night but through the day too if her mum goes out for any length of time. The pooh is a little on the soft side too. (This has happened after three separate fortnight visits here) She sleeps in the kitchen here, on her own bed and I have never heard a peep out of her at night, so not stressed at all. She has not soiled in my house either and the pooh is nice and firm. She eats food that her owner brings for her and any treats I give are the same as she has at home, so nothing different at all in her diet. Her owner feels that, although she has a ball when she comes, she still feels stress from the separation, although it doesn't show here. I thought it might be an idea to go back to crate training (she crate trained her for the first twelve months) but she is a bit concerned about limiting her freedom after so long. She has also just lent her crate to a friend who has got a new puppy. The only difference I can see, apart from the fact that she is here with me and not at her own home with her owner, is that, at home, she has naps during the day but here, she seems to play all day and just crashes at night. Any ideas please? Her owner still prefers that she comes to me as she knows that she is safe and happy here. I just wish we could help resolve this problem for her.
