Help. My girl is just over 7 weeks and is not eating properly.  I raw feed her and up till now, she has been eating with great gusto but over the last few days, she wanders over to her bowl and pokes her head in then looks at me like 'is that it?' and wanders away.  I got her to eat a couple of chicken wings yesterday but she wouldn't eat out of her bowl at all.  And I am feeding her little and often incase she is just feeling full up.  I don't understand it? I've never experienced this before so early.  Any other girls have been well into their last days before they run out of room.  She is big but not massive.  Actually, now I've typed that, she is breathing funny and can't really reach her bits properly anymore.  Poor baby.  But she still wants to go out with all the rest!lol. Short, leash walks is best for tubby mamas, me thinks!lol

My girl was like this during the last week, she was HUGE and very solid, so I just kept offering little bits of food with perhaps a little bit of grated cheese on, or cottage cheese/natural yoghurt, just something to try and keep her interested, as it turned out, she did have them early, I guess not enough room for the pups and her food!

ARGH! don't say that!  She still has more than 2 weeks to go. Or 2 weeks on Sat.  Far too early to start to get ready.  That's why I'm worrying.  Usually my girls don't stop eating or cutting down till a day or so before.  In fact, my last girl had her brekkie then walked to the whelping box and out came the first pup as she lay down!!  I'm just finding the eating thing a bit weird this early.

My girl was quite fussy right through her pregnancy, but during the last 2 weeks refused to eat most things. I found that giving her very small meals 6 or 7 times a day worked best. That way it was just a couple of mouthfuls and didn't take up much room. I did have to tempt her with fish, chicken, tripe etc though as she wouldn't touch the pupple kibble I was trying to feed her. Although I did cunningly soak it and mash it into the meats and she didn't notice :)
My girl was fairly large and also had them 3 days early. There were 9 pups and I guess they were taking up all the space in her tummy.

Same here, wouldn't touch raw for the last few weeks on both whelps. She would eat small amounts of puppy kibble though as well as tinned fish and chicken wings. I didn't mind what she ate as long as she did. Two days after whelp she went back onto raw meat (still adding the dried puppy food)

Missie, she just had 2 chicken wings for lunch and ate a tiny bit of beef too.  I took her out a walk this morning so maybe she needs to burn off a bit of energy before she feels like eating?  Anyway, she's ate something so I'm happy again.

Well that's good that she's eating something. My girl wouldn't touch anything other than  fish, so much so that I thought the pups would be born with gils!
