brooke is now coming up 14months old. She has been a tricky ne to housetrain particularly ovenight but we got there well untill a couple of weeks ago
She has an upset stomach so poos and sick during the night, well that happens. Fine by the next day and back to normal. Since then she has returned to weeing and pooing at noght she goes downstairs to the hall and does whater. Oh takes her out when he goes to bed which is usually between 1 and 3 o/c then she is allowed out in the morning at about 7.30. Usually has to be shoved downstairs then to go out as would prefer to sleep. No problems during the day even when left, she is trained well still work in progress to go to command in one area of the garden but will by day take herself out or indeed ask to go outbut nighs are a different story since the tunny upset.
She has also had 2 sets of antibiotics in the last 14 days both of which istopped with the vets agreement as her poos were sloppy and the night problem. Ab's were for a papilloma on her lip followed by antibiotic cover after removal by ga.
She hasnt yet had a season or any sign of one.

Any ideas peeps ?

I am by no means an expert but has she always had sloppy poos? Or is this why she has stopped the ABs?
I would think that she is getting herself into the habit and can maybe still smell where she went when she was ill.  I would restrict her completely at night by having her sleep in a crate till she can be trusted again(break the cycle).  I know my springer had an upset stomach in the month leading up to her seasons but it only happened once or twice and wasn't every night(happened one night, then again, about a fortnight later).  I hope she gets back out of the habit soon but sometimes when you think you've cracked the house-training, you kind of lapse into 'expecting' her to just know what and when.  You maybe need to re-inforce the training again.  I know my dogs love a fuss even now when they get it right, even my oldie(but she looks at me like a loon!!lol)

The sloppy poos was because of the abs' she is raw fed so I am used to quite firm ones this is unusual. I was wondering about crating her agin but its going to be real pain as the crate would need to be next to me or we would have another issue as the reason I stopped crating her earlier than any aother dog was due to her not settling except by me ( again no problems when i am out )
Crate doesnt fit in our room due to size of crate ! and I cant seelp downstairs cos I have anocturnal family who eat and go out at all hours. Shall have to think on this good advice. If she cant get downstairs she just poos/wees where she is think it could be habit rather than where she does it.
Oh dear maybe back to basics

FF, Why does she not settle in her crate at night if she's OK during the day?  I think you do need to go back to basics and that's with the crate training too.  I have a last pee time and all my lot know when that is.  If anyone comes or goes between the hours of 11pm and 7am, my lot know they are not getting out or attention so they don't bother.  I had to do this as when we had our kids, you are up wandering about at all hours and I couldn't have the dogs messing about or needing out as well.  Especially when we had toddlers at the same time!  So, we only let the dogs through the night if they are ill.
I would put the crate up downstairs (where it fits) and you are going to need to go through a rough couple of nights till she knows that she sleeps there and not with you.  I would ignore her completely (unless she is hurting herself or needing outside, only you know).  You are going to need to nip this in the bud before she gets any older.  I would expect a dog to be completely housetrained, night and day, by 6 months at the very latest.  Especially a big breed bitch.

I agree cracar she hasn't used a crate. Day or night for months this pup really has been different or in the last four years I've got softer since previous pups now grown. - disbanded crate and she sleeps in my room with whispa funnily little one is happy downstairs in kitchen in her crate. I think oh could be part of the problem have now discovered he isn't always letting.  Her out as I thought and certainly doesn't watch her or go woith her when he goes to bed so I guess she gets disturbed by him doesn't go out so goes in the hall. Last night went back to basics - took her out at 10  when I went to bed he did take her out when he went to bed took a lot of persuading as she was asleep and didn't want to move finally he got the hint and came and got her. This morning all is good. Will use crate again as last resort. She is an odd one doesn't seem worried if left at home during the day without anyone ( mind she usually has whiispa) but hates being away from me unless she chooses doesn't even settle well in kitchen with gate if she knows I am in the house

That's GSD's for you, I suppose!lol.  They are never happiest than when you are in sight constantly.  Send her to me.  We could sit and snuggle all day and night long:).
PS My OH did this too!  But after spending the night with a trumping old spaniel who desparately needed out, he soon learned his lesson!  Our girls get a biccy at bedtime so I get OH to give them it when he see's them 'go' so they think it's for that.  Means he needs to watch them instead of shoving them out the door and nipping to the loo or on the PC!
