My 13 month old bitch had her first season about 6 weeks ago,and for about the last 3 weeks she has had a phantom pregnancy,the only symptoms I've noticed are her big boobs,she's eating fine,running flat out and being herself,how long do the phantoms last and is there anything to give her to get rid of her boobs?A bit embarrassing taking her to a show in her state !!lol

She's not puttng on weight,eating fine,exercising like a girl possessed,she just has boobs,how long do phantoms last,please?

My bitch is 2.5 yrs and has had 2 seasons. After each she had a phantom. Her symptoms were misery guts face, clinginess, refusing to play with other dogs, big boobs and milk (especially after her 1st season) and a thin coat and very rapidly growing toenails!! All symptoms were a little less second time around so hopefully she will cope better next time, we'll see. All symptoms remained in force and got worse (bigger boobs) until she would have had pups if she were in whelp. Then they faded away. She wasn't completely back to normal until about 3 months after her season. However I don't allow her to mooch and keep on with normal life including going to champ shows. She has won a rbcc with a milk bar and been dumped at another so it does depend on the judge as always!

Mine is really being clingy,always jumping up at me,bit miserable around strange dogs,coat is a bit dull,but is eating normal,exercising as though she hasn't been out for months,do they get any discharge like in a real pregnancy?It's been nearly 2 months since her season,do I need to take her to vets if symptoms don't go?
