Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Dried ground/minced chicken - safe?
- By Zebedee [gb] Date 12.04.12 21:08 UTC
For the past few months i've been making home made dog treats for my tribe, primarily for my lad who is only food orientated when it suits!!! So training can be a pain in the rump even when i save the extra special treats for the big rewards.
My latest venture is using ground chicken carcases which includes the skin, meat and bone. I am not cooking the ground chicken i am dehydrating it in a dehydrator.
My burning question is, is the bone a risk to my dogs at all even though it has been dried and NOT cooked?
I made some today and so far they have been a huge hit with all of my dogs :-) but obviously i will have to try something else if it is deemed unsafe for my dogs to eat them.
I would really appreciate your opinions on this please.
Thank you.

Thank you colliepam.
I guess the amount they have munched through with no ill effects tells me they are ok. After all they all eat the same kind of minced carcases raw on a regular basis.
I just wanted to be sure! :-)
