Hi everybody,
I'm planning on breeding my girl next year and have chosen the stud dog that will compliment my bitch with some help from a breeder and have exchanged pedigrees and photos and have been given the heads up of using this boy.
The thing is this is my first time and very excited but my question is what do I put in email (not good talking on telephone)about stud fee, contract , I've checked on the kennel club with health tests is there anything else I should be asking.
I would like to know as also have to travel to aberdeen from woking, surrey so would like to save money for travelling as well as hotel, and will be by train as not able to drive even if I pass my test

Hope someone can point me in the right direction as don't want to sound stupid lol .
Thanks in advance

Nessa

The easiest thing is to ask what the 'Stud Terms' are for the use of the dog.  These can vary widely (there si a thread about thsi at present) so you need to fidn out what this stud owner offers, what they expect from you.

This will tel you when and how much your expected to pay, what happens if there are no puppies etc.

If not covered then you can then ask whether they board the bitch, how many matings they will allow etc.

You can also ask them about local pet friendly places to stay etc.
