right i would like to get another pup in maybe a years time i have 3 children currently aged 7 (almost 8) , 4 (almost 5) and 2 years old , i also have 3 cats and 2 staffs 7 and 12 weeks (both bitches) , me and my children walk both dogs twice daily and they are very respectful of all animals (i wouldnt stand for anything less) im thinking about what breeds i am intrested in and i LOVE staffs and am also fond of rottweilers although have no exp with rotties (but we all start somewhere), im starting to do research now as i want a very well bred kc reg pup as im really wanting to show and also possibly do agility and obedience with said pup and i feel this gives me pleanty of time to decide on a breeder meet them , they meet me, my children/pets in my home and go on a waiting list is there any tips /advice that i should take heed to ?x

as you've staffies now and like them why not another staffy? they can be excellent at agility :-)

Why not do obedience and agility with the staffs you have now?  My local agility won't let dogs under 12 months join so you could maybe start with your older bitch and do obedience with your young pup.  I've decided that a 4 yr gap between dogs is a good idea.  Pup learns manners from the older ones, the 4 yr old would still be 'playful' with the pup but not unruley and I would always have at least 2.(my thinking anyway).  Unfortunately, things haven't worked out that way in my house yet ;))  I've always got too many and think I always will.  I like the chaos!

Did I read right that you have 2 staffie females at 7 & 12 weeks??  And you're already planning on getting another puppy in a year's time?

Why not focus on the puppies you have now - which would probably be a handful for anyone, having 2 at once, and focus on seeing that they are well-trained and physically and mentally stimulated??

It's a bit like a new mum saying she wants to have another baby immediately - give the babies you have some time with you, to grow and fulfil their potential.

No the OP has a dog of 7years and a pup.. they want to get a pup in a years time.  As folk have said I hope they can do stuff with their current dogs and perhaps if they want another in a years time they'll get a male - as two females so close together are more likely to argue....

im just "considering" it atm i may decide i dont want another as the months go on im already planning on doing agility with my 12 week old and have her enrolled in puppy obedience classes already :) .... and with me having 2 females already it would be a male i would be looking for

Think very carefully before mixing the sexes.  Yes, it's much easier arguement wise but season time is a nightmare even with outside kennels!  Just read some of the posts on here about mixed sex living together! Put you off for life!lol
