Has anyone tried to order from them recently? Just tried on eBay and they have no listings and then via their website where it says that the merchant can't receive PayPal payments. Really hope they havent gone under as I don't know what else I will use and I am nearly out!
- By Alysce [gb] Date 27.03.12 13:07 UTC
I remember a few people having a similar issue recently but as far as I can remember they got their order through.  Have you tried phoning them?

I also hope they are still going strong - not sure what i'd do without my odourfresh!

I orderd online 2 weeks ago no probs :) Loving the spearmint!!
- By Alysce [gb] Date 27.03.12 14:02 UTC
Phew!  Thats a relief!  Yep, spearmint and eucalyptus every time for us! :-)
- By JeanSW Date 27.03.12 22:23 UTC
I was one of the people that thought they had gone under several weeks ago. But the order did turn up in the end.

However, I have them saved on my sellers list on ebay, and I've just looked at it.  It is telling me that they are no longer listed.

Did you hear of the postal price rise planned?  These liquids are so heavy that I wonder if some suppliers are pulling out of eBay til they source a cheaper despatch method

I heard on the radio that some Post Offices completely sold out of stamps today :(

Like you all, I'd hate to be without this stuff and it's Spearmint and Eucalyptus for me too.  I'm decorating the kitchen and bathroom at the moment and these scents even do a pretty good job at coping with the whiff of gloss paint :)

(Ooh and whilst I think of it JeanSW, I bought some Yard cleaner from the Pee-Off people at Crufts this year probably not their real name but I can't remember it at the moment!  I think this was on your recommendation and it's brilliant, thank you.  Smells lovely and the warm wee smell that I sometimes get in warm weather on our gravel drive has completely gone.  Thank you again)

Anyone know if stalls sell Odourfresh at shows? Really can't justify the postage on one 5L container even before postage hike, but may be going to WELKS and National. Could I get some there?
- By dogs a babe Date 27.03.12 23:18 UTC

> may be going to WELKS

Ms T  Are you going on Gundog Day by chance?  I've got some Vanilla you can have - I'm not that keen on this one

OR PM me your address and I'll try and drop it in next time I'm shopping your way (or we can rendezvous in Orvis!!) :)
- By MsTemeraire Date 27.03.12 23:35 UTC
Pastoral/Utility unfortunately. Shame as vanilla is what I'd have chosen... Maybe orvis will have a sale on soon??? :)

Mind you that would be a hell of a round trip to Kuwait, wouldn't it!

I tried Mistral and one other company on Ebay twice. I bought 8 x 5L in total and didn't like it.
It' very watery and scent although strong, last for a short time only. Even undilluted.
To be honest, somehow I couldn't trust their disinfecting capabilities at all. For me it looked just like scented water.
Anyway, since then I am using Dettol and Bio washing liquid which makes me and my neighbours happy.
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 28.03.12 20:23 UTC
Please be aware that if you have cats as well as dogs, you should keep away from all disinfectants which turn "milky" when diluted - ie dettol, zoflora, jeyes fluid.   Whilst still wet it can be absorbed through the pads on their feet and is poisonous to them.

The bio washing liquid is okay though!

Dogs a babe... what is the name of the 'pee-off' stuff? The warm weather really is making a horrible smell on the patio!
- By dogs a babe Date 28.03.12 22:16 UTC
Hi Josh, here you go - I think Urine Off  (sorry not Pee-Off!!) is the version for indoor use but I bought Yard Clean as recommended by the distributor at Crufts.  It's really good stuff and I'm so pleased with it.  I keep it permanently made up in a watering can nr the back door and splash it round as needed.  However, I've found a little goes a long way so I probably dilute it a bit more than the recommended 1:20
- By parrysite [gb] Date 28.03.12 22:30 UTC
Thank you! I don't know how multi-dog households cope in this weather! We only have the one and the yard stinks of pee despite daily wash downs with the pressure washer! Have ordered a bottle.

I guess he is still entire and that makes a huge difference - their pee is very much stronger smelling. But if you are like me, where we only have a small courtyard garden [or not like me, but restrict the dog/s to a patio area - same difference] then yes smells need to be dealt with.

If you are caught on the hop or have run out of other stuff, use biological washing liquid diluted in water - the enzymes break down the smells. I add some Zoflora to that which sweetens it even more, but after a few years of trial and error and being on CD, I have begun to realise this Odourfresh has a lot going for it :)

I agree with dogjunkie. I bought Mistral after hearing rave reviews but have been very disappointed with it and wouldn't buy it again.
- By parrysite [gb] Date 29.03.12 16:46 UTC
I usually use plain old ordinary flash kitchen cleaner- I find that used diluted in water it gets the smell away but in this heat it doesn't work. He is entire, and at the minute the whole garden is getting re-done so you're right, he's fenced off to just a paved patio area.
- By jacksgirl [gb] Date 29.03.12 17:41 UTC
Another disappointed Mistral customer here too :-(
- By Alfieshmalfie Date 29.03.12 17:59 UTC
The best thing Im finding at the moment (as I also dont get on with Mistral) is Swarfega 3 in 1 cleaner, I buy it in 5L red containers and having got three dogs here, it really works.  It smells like extra strong washing up liquid, doesnt go milky and gets rid of all the oily wee marks on the slabs as well.
- By JayneA [eu] Date 02.04.12 13:59 UTC
Well my Mistral order turned up on Friday so no problems there then!
- By Freewayz [gb] Date 03.04.12 22:21 UTC
Tagging on the end here...The company that makes odour fresh is in Northern Ireland and it was on the news recently as being under investigation for food safe chemicals they sell making people sick(or worse not sure how bad it was) so they may be late in sending parcel due to that...

Cheers
J

I use odour fresh and couldn't find them on my eBay either so used a different company but don't think it that great. Have just looked at yard clean and it so much more expensive - is it really worth the money and cure smell? 6 dogs that have there own patio'd enclosed area so it needs to be good but cost effective.
- By Pedlee Date 04.04.12 17:23 UTC
I've just invested in it, as like you, I have 6 dogs and have yet to find anything that can deal with the smell on the slabs (and on the gravel in particular). When the sun comes out and "bakes" the area the smell is awful. After the initial application of Yard Clean one evening it smelled lovely, but come the next day, with the sun on it, sure enough the urine smell returned. I will try a good few more applications but it isn't going to last very long and it is VERY expensive. I'm not sure there is a solution.....
- By WolfieStruppi [gb] Date 04.04.12 17:36 UTC
I was advised by a boarding kennel owner that a 50/50 mixture of bleach and Daz diluted works wonders (and her kennels didn't smell at all on a hot day).
- By parrysite [gb] Date 04.04.12 20:46 UTC
I tried biological washing powder in water on your recommendation. It did the trick really well, so well infact that I cancelled my order of the expensive stuff!

I have 3 male dogs.  I douse with water first - to wash the urine off the vertical surfaces - then slop Yard Clean on it.  I don't find the smell returns after that :)  I've found it YC more successful than anything else I've tried but Odour Fresh is pretty good outside too, particularly the Eucalyptus one

I got an e-mail from Mistral offering me 10% off my next order so they seem to be back in business and keen to distribute.  I don't want to post the code here as it is the usual 'for a special ebay customer...' but if anyone is planning to order and wants the code PM me and I will send it to you.
- By JeanSW Date 23.04.12 22:26 UTC
I got the same email, giving the link to their site, with the discount code.  It looked as if it was going out to all their ebay customers.  It makes it a better deal than buying on ebay.  Which is unusual.  I have always ordered on ebay because it was more expensive from their site.
- By king of bling Date 24.04.12 08:57 UTC
Have to say I have never been disappointed with Mistral keeps our patio area fresh 4 the dogs :)
- By Celli [gb] Date 24.04.12 09:30 UTC
I got the same e mail....but I didn't buy from E bay, I bought mine from Mistral direct.
- By ali-t [gb] Date 24.04.12 19:07 UTC
Aaaaw, and there was me thinking I was special too!
