Restless is fine, even if she whelps in the next 24 hours she should have viable pups. Please don't worry, I have a breed that whelps at 8 weeks frequently.
Pop the kettle on, and sit it out. :-) :-) :-)

My bitch was restless, off food and occasional panting for 36 hours before 'true' labour started.

i always ask myself why at night lol just keep an eye on her and watch for her contrating then you will know :-)
has she had the calm before the storm yet?? where she is sleeping very heavy with long breathing and a sort of glazed look in their eyes?
edit to say my vet told me its a sure sign once her milk as come tho 24/48h and pups are on the ground ive only ever had 1 girl have milk before pups came and she started delivering them 8h after so again good luck lol x
Well , that thing about the milk is not a sign of soon whelping on all canine girls.
My girl is on day 56 today and she has had milk since day 51.
Actually she has so much milk that her teets and belonging "skinparts"( sorry, don;t remember the name in english LOL) feels real "hard" on and of. Her mother had milk 4 days before birth and the puppies gained weight right from the start.
I am taking temp. on my girl and it works fine for us. My girl does not even notice it. The temp. lays now between 37,5-37,8 degrees( sorry again, do not know what this is in Fahrenheigt) which is a normal temp. for many girls in the end of pregnancy. When it starting to go beneath 37,4 it is probably on the way down and getting closer to birth.
Many good luck wishes from Sweden!!
thankyou both shes walking around the room now and was staring at me and her eyes were closing she must be so tired
felt puppies moving around a fair bit, and it was hard lumps.
i cant for the life of me think what her mum was like before i remember the birth of the pups like yesterday but not before lol
will keep you infomed thanks again
will get a thermomter cant spell it lol tommorrow

Mine had milk for several days before delivering. Be assured, when labour really does start you will know and you won't be here asking lol

I never tell anyone that milk is a sure sign that labour is on the way!
I've had bitches whelp that didn't even have milk come in until after pups were born.
i think every1 as took me wrong lol i was just saying what the vet told me ,ive just red it back and i can see it looks like im saying there coming....lol
we had a show at 10.30 last night she went to wee and when she came back in had clear snot like stringy discharge so for the details
no smell to it she is fine in herself took her to bed with me she stayed in her box bit restless and had a lick down below and seemed to nibble her belly
other than that nothing, shes ok today had some food and is dozing on chair.
am i right is it 24-48 hours after this
thanks all you have been great

yes mine went into real labour at 10pm and was giving birth from 1.30am - 6.30am. It would have been so much more sociable in the daytime! I do wonder if I might have saved number 11 if I hadn't been as tired as my bitch :/

>she seems to get restless at night so will expect a early morning
Now donna, you're not getting the hang of it are you!
She will obviously need to wait until you are knackered and looking like a zombie. This is the bitches number one rule! It's called getting us back! :-) :-) :-)
well we have some changes my girl havent ate 2 out of 3 meals today, will eat what i had tho. shes weeing loads and has gone in her box rather than a comfy chair like her mum
she wont let her mum near the box keeps growling at her.
even kept nudging my hand when i went near her, took her temp and it was 37.7.
had another clear show this morning,
so hopfully not much longer
