Hello I hope someone on here can help.  I own a fairly large breed.  I have bred a few litters in the past but only when I want to keep a new puppy back for showing for myself,  this is my bitches 2nd litter.  1st litter text book and the symptoms were obvious and quite severe, morning sickness, clingy, lazy, off food and clear sticky discharge.  Our vet who is old school palpated her this time at 22 days and said he could feel nothing, always been resonably accurate in the past.  She has been slightly picky with food, sick once around day 22 but it was food like not bile?  Wanting a lot of affection and a bit lazier than usual.  She has had no disharge at all but is slightly swollen at back still although not as much as during season.  She has starting eating grass too as if she wants to be sick.  Her nipples which have remained quite large since her 1st litter dont seem any darker but do feel softer.  I have never scanned in the past but I am confused as I'm now wondering if either she is having a phantom or could there be one puppy the vet missed ?  We are now on day 30. Would appreciate your thoughts.

id say scan but if you dont want to then treat her as if she was in whelp just incase you will know in a few more weeks for sure :)

I would scan, and if nothing is showing still I would be tempted to x-ray at 7+weeks just be certain.
