Hi guys, well it's now been almost 3 months since my GR Sam had his cruciate ligament operated on and he is doing pretty well. Still not quite right but I think it will get better eventually with more time. I have a question though regarding hair regrowth on the shaven area: I have 2 bald areas on which the fur is not growing back, on the top of the hip and on the last rib. Everywhere else is now covered in undercoat-like down, but these areas still show bare skin. Makes him look like he's got some sort of skin disease!! By the way, the skin looks fine and he doesn't bother/lick it at all.
Anyone else experienced this? I reckon it might be pressure points he lies down on... But I HOPE it's eventually going to grow back!!!!! Please share your experience!

I once had a clumber spaniel whose hair grew back patchy and downy (and oh so slowly!) after an op - he was never a 'sexy' dog so my vet gave him a short course of testosterone tablets and the hair grew back quickly and evenly.  It didn't have any effect on his behaviour either.

I ahve been in this situation, and fed Yumega, the hair did seem to grow back quite well, however whether this was due to the Yumega or not I couldn't tell, but for what it cost, it was definately worth trying

Think it may differ between breed and probably dogs. One of mine had a cyst removed last week 9 stitches due to come out on Monday and the hair has grown so I can hardly see the sutures yet the area on his leg is still almost bare.
