I am looking to get some insurance for my dog he was insured with the KC but they want £80 a month now, they are very good and never quibbled either time i made a claim (although they were for small amounts), and paid out straight away. But £80 a month is now too much so i am looking for an alternative provider. Which companies do you use/are the most accomodating?
Thanks.

If you have rolling cover for life I would be wary about changing as any new company will exclude each and every ailment minor or otherwise from any new policy.
I am with Animal firends and have no problems with then.

I have to say, after Tescos wanted to almost double my premium, I cancelled. I decided it was far better to put the money away in a separate account in case I needed it. I know it's peace of mind, but after paying over £2500 without claiming, it made more sense to me to do this, also with having another dog now, It is just too expensive to insure them at a level I would be comfortable with

Just hope you never need the third party insurance then...or I think the dogs trust gives some third party insurance if you are a member.

You can get third party insurance without having to have your dog insured for vet needs.

im with nfu mutual....love them will never change...have a large breed insured with them life cover so she has the top level of cover and i pay £26, a month! my insurance never goes up when i claim(we've claimed for three years in a row now) it balances its self out so no one gets penalised for claiming...
its £22. for my toys each a month.

Interesting point re NFU, Zuma was in Dick White in Newmarket end of last month (thank Dog for insurance!) had to fill in paperwork and they say they will not do direct payment from 2 companies. One is E&L (no surprise there) but also from NFU.

I use Animal Friends and they have paid out quickly on 2 big claims

A friend used them, they paid out for a claim then on renewal they wanted £113 (previously paid just over £40).

I have insured my rescue lab with marks and spencer insurance,£11 a month,
Sheila

but also from NFU
ive done three direct claims for bella from nfu,all over £2,000...ive never had a problem...and recently actually two weeks ago ish royal vetinary college have done a direct claim with nfu...
just saying ive never had a problem.x

I have not had problems with NFU, it was just a note on the form I filled in. Zuma is with Axa and DW were quite happy to claim direct from them.

OH lol i see ha ha ha forgive me im a big goggle eyes im so tired as been working my socks off today and am shattered but sooo exited for tommorow ...sad aint i lol

Agree with NFU being really good for me so far. Used them for 6 years, I have an ongoing claim (has been for nearly 4 years) and they pay direct to my vets every month. No need for a claim form each time either, they just ask for a letter and the amount along with invoice but my vets deal with that. I pay roughly £20 per month per dog - they are all large breeds. Excess is £60 and I have lifetime cover. Without insurance I couldn't afford my girls monthly tablets which work out over £300 each time.
