Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Entering the Working Class in Europe

I just wondered if anyone here as entered gundogs in Europe in the 'Working Class' at shows?

I have entered in Holland at shows before and they have accepted the 'KC Gundog Working Certificate' with the KC document that explains what the certificate entails.

I have just tried to enter a show in Luxembourg and they won't accept that. They have sent me a small extract that says "This dog has successfully finished the required working trials and is entitled to be registered in the working class of all FCI exhibitions (according to the decision taken by the General Assembly of the FCI in Athens April 2000" and told me I need to contact the KC to get them to issue a certificate.

does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks.

no, but i had same problem with working class for my (non gundog) breed in France, but not in CZ!     A law to themselves I think LOL!

My understanding is that for working class you need a recognised FCI field trial award. The FCI do not recognise our FT awards and they cannot be used as a qualifiction for Int Ch title, so unless trailing in Europe our dogs can only have Int Sh Ch title. Suspect the Dutch show allowed entry to class in error.

Thanks for your replies. I have had several e mail conversations with one of the show organisers, who now admits they don't know anything about 'gundogs' and are looking in to it further.

Ditto KLB, it is my understanding you need to have gained an FCI field trial award to enter a working class - a UK field trial award, or SGWC is not a qualifying award.
