We are soon (hopefully) bringing home our new GSD pup.  I always used to get bags of veal chew sticks from Zooplus for a short chewing session or to use as a distraction when getting pups used to the hairdryer etc but they have stopped doing them.

Any suggestions for other natural chew treats that wont disappear in seconds suitable for puppies?

Pizzles, also from Zooplus are long lasting, they do pong a bit though.

After years of spending money on treats the pups either chew in seconds,or don't even bother looking at it,I just stick to either pigs ears, trotters tails that I bake myself (other half always thinks hes coming home to roast pork for tea LOL),pork/lamb ribs (all free from my lovely butcher) or fill a kong up with tasty treats - eg tinned sardines, small puppy kibble with a spoon full of honey stirred in,peanut butter.I then pop them in the freezer and they last for ages.

I always use Kongs filled with interesting stuff. Never used peanut butter especially that with bits in as I know of several cases in young children where inhaled small bits or a whole peanut has caused sometimes fatal problems , and with dogs that live in pubs and get fed peanuts , but there's plenty of other choices.Theres also the various treat puzzle balls .

The peanut butter is the smooth variety and used as a 'plug' in the kongs to stop the filling coming out.
I hate the stuff myself.
