Any thoughts? I am looking for a new food for my houndies and recently saw that a top breeder feeds royal canin so someone must think it's good :) I am always wary of protein levels being too high though as my hounds tend to go about 'fizzy' on anything more than 23/24 per cent.

I feed my Terriers RC mini, and raised my litter (now 12 months old) with great results IMO. My gundogs get a bit fizzy on it though. Have a chat with them at Crufts and see what they advise you :-)

I have used RC mini junior for my toys and can find no fault with the food.  My litters always did fantastically well on it.

I would still feed it if I only had 3 or 4 dogs, but with my gang, I can no longer keep up with their price hikes.

My dogs all thrive on R C and I am more than happy with it but I am thinking of changing to fish 4 dogs as Rc is becomining sooo expensive.

Beware it PILES the pounds on!!! I cannot feed my Malinois on RC (tried more than once -last time 2 months ago when I was given a sack) as they would all look like Labradors after a short time.

:-)  Ditto!  I have sacks of the larger kibble here for the Collies, and the small kibble for the toys.  I buy the plain fish and the salmon.  The small bite is plenty small enough for Chihuahuas.  Yet my tots still steal the large bite!  I have recently reared a toy litter on Fish4Puppies, and I would tell you to go for it japmum.  I have had no problem with them taking to it, and the coats and skin are lovely.

Will seek them out at crufts. Have picked up free samples in the past and the chins have loved them.Think it was the fishy smell that was putting me off but can't keep up with RC,s continuing price rises

Fish4dogs has a sale on at present.

What I also like is you can order as little or as much as you want the delivery is free, RC I had to order a minimum of 2 bags and it was going stale by the time they were half way down the second bag and I would end up throwing it out.

Haven't raised a litter on it yet but will certainly give it a go.

I feed my hound on Rc, as it sorts him but he dose have the light as he can put alot of weight on with it but it agrees with his tummy. I would only change if you need to and if you do. Do it slowly I would get a small bag and put a handful in there food each time. As greys tummys are funny things.
