Well, I have to say she is extremely gracious about what happened and quite freely admits that it was an accident no witch hunt from her about the dog/owner/breed and is pleased that the dog is back home,  she obviously listened to the backlash that she was as much to blame for what happened or perhaps she unusually accepted that the moment it happened?

The scarring and wound is much worse than I thought tbh, hardly looked like the dog touched her. So she is very brave and grown up about what has happened to her, some people would have been up for drama queen of the year if it had happened to them.

Although I thought her a complete idiot to do that to a dog, I truly respect how she has dealt with this and she comes across as a very nice lady, I hope that she recovers well.

It's a terrible lesson learnt by her, but I also hope it is a lesson in how to act dignified when you are to blame for things that happen too and not blame everyone else for it.

I had her pegged wrongly as one of these people, she is not, in fact she is a very lovely lady and I hope that she will continue to recover well.

hi carrington
You thought exactly what i thought, she is a very brave lady and respect her in what she said in the interview.
Lets hope at least one person learns from what has happened.
   And hope she recovers well.

Ouch, that wound is worse than I thought too, I saw the reports saying it required stitches but hadn't fully realised how bad it was, hope the scarring fades with time, poor lady. I'm glad she doesn't seem to bear any grudges.

A very brave and very sensible woman. :-) With that positive attitude I'm sure she'll make a wonderful recovery, because the mind is a powerful force in healing.

I saw this - much respect for her now, for putting her views across in that interview and for doing a vid-interview as well... that takes some guts particularly for someone in an industry that so prioritises appearance!

I have to say, I was actually not surprised at the wound - it looks bad, but then its only two weeks since it happened. Whoever has done the surgery there has done a VERY skilled )and i would imagine expensive) job. Lets not forget she was VERY close to that dog and he had a very big head, and we are of course far more horrified by facial disfigurement than other areas.

If that wound was on her hand or neck, it wouldn't be anywhere near as shocking.

Would she not have said she was as much to blame if she thought that?
As you say though, extremely gracious :).
The damage did not surpise me, it was quite clear from the outset the bite had inflicted considerable damage.

Not necessarily, because that could possibly have left her open to being sued herself, or getting into trouble with her employers. It might even have affected her health insurance claim.

I think she has already let that pass by saying it was an accident :)
Who was likely to sue her? The dog? Defamation of character :)

Dog's owner, possibly, for stress. You know what the compensation-culture can be like, particularly overseas, especially with an admission of even partial guilt. Saying it's an accident bypasses that possibility very neatly, so good for her.
