Just wanted to let you know.....If anyone is looking for a show ring arm band I ordered one from Dog Exhibitor and it arrived today, it looks really good and it was only £4.50 inc p&p. Their website is www.dogexhibitor.com

I was talking at the weekend about wanting one as my ring clip has just died. RachelSetters has just pointed this thread out, so thank you and hopefully will order one later :-)

Exhibitors, please if you must wear arm bands wear them so the judge and steward can read your number you have no idea how tiresome it becomes either walking round people or asking them to turn round, for some reason they always seem to be worn on the arm that is turned away from the judge and steward and twisted to the side and not the front.

Should you wear it on the left or right? Just wondered. x

You should wear it so when you are standing in the line your number can be read, it depends on how you show your dog but if you stand in front of a mirror as if you are showing the dog you should be able to read the number in the mirror, all be it backwards.

Never seen anyone in my breed with an arm band, they all use clips, something I never even thought about at my first show, luckily someone ran in and lent me theirs to save my embarrassment as to what I was going to do with this card.

I have seen armbands used across the pond.

Always used an arm band to avoid having to pin cards to my clothes. hate ring clips

Just ordered one. I have too noticed pin holes in some of my clothing, at least this way I only hope it stays on my arm. I often loose my card out of ringclips too.

You know I always have a couple of dozen in my stewards bag and although everyone means to give them back they rarely remember. Problem with arm bands most people have them facing out to the side when they need to face the front, there is, I believe, some sort of KC rule covering the wearing of the ring number but I am not sure where to find it I only know they should be easy to read, mind you there is always at least one who has it in their pocket.

If I'd been a steward I would have carried safety pins at least, it was a dachsie club show, don't know who she was,she just grunted when I told her it was my first time as I'd been advised to do, haven't seen her since so I think she must have been from one of the other breeds.

I always buy about 25 at a time they are not very expensive and some come back.
