What are people's views on an uncle to niece mating please - The lines are known inside out, fully health tested and super temperaments. Some call it linebreeding and some call it inbreeding. Any thoughts please.

What's the COI  recommendation for the breed?

KC COI is 6.9 but that is too low for the breed!

My next Malinois litter will be uncle to niece. Inbreeding is very close individuals i.e. mother to son, full brother to sister etc, less is known as linebreeding which this is.

The COI for the uncle to niece is 20% but I know the dogs and their ancectors inside out, mainly good health test results throughout the pedigree.

Some of my most successful litters have been half Uncle to niece, that is mating a bitch to her mothers half sibling.

The thinking for me is which side of the dam or sires pedigree did the desired traits in my bitch come through from most.

I would then consider a half sibling of the dam/sire strong in those traits to fix them, especially if the bitch I am mating is from an out cross.
