We have a dusting of snow here, yet I cannot get a digital radio signal - daughter couldn't get Sky last night, is this a sign of things to come when we go completely digital?

Well before digital tele came in we rarely had any signal problems on Analogue but the screen is always flicking on to a blue screen!!! Not progress in my opinion!!

Digital is much less reliable than analogue.

In poor weather (usually high pressure) the analogue signal would be weaker, but we still had a picture, albeit 'snowy'. Now that analogue has been switched off, if it rains and the digital signal weakens it cuts off the picture completely. Definitely not progress.

When they switch the analogue signal off they also increase the digital signal. Before they switched it off here there were several TV channels we could not get at all on digital, and all it took was  a bit of rain or snow or even wind for the picture to disappear or go bad on others. After they switched the analogue signal off in August it's never happened again and we can now get all the channels.

I had a digital radio for a while but soon binned it as it was so unreliable, but I may try again once that analogue signal for radio is switched off.

Yes - we can get more channels now analogue's been switched off, but only when the weather's good!

Is your TV or digibox a bit old perhaps? I found everything worked much better when we got a new TV with inbuilt digital tuner, and a new digibox for the bedroom. The same was true for my MIL.

Could be you need a new aerial and/or new wiring in your house. Also do you have any trees near to your house ?? This can affect the signal when it is raining/windy. Consult a professional :) :) :)

No, only a year.

>The same was true for my MIL.

She works better with a new tuner? ;-) :-)
