Hi - just been to the vet who recommended I get a coat for my girl(8) as she is getting a bit stiff in her lumber region.
Have any of you kitted your Dobe with a coat/jumper? Its only for the cold weather but she doesn't think she needs any drugs yet - which I'm happy about.

I wondered if a jumper would be a better fit???
Any advice gratefully received :)

Have a look at equafleece :)

Yes - I second Equafleece.  I have one for my Vizsla - so deep chested/similar shape to dobie - very nice quality & very snuggly.  I can hardly get my bitch out of hers.  If your dog is a little stiff generally they do one w/ a zip or velcro.  But don't get that option if your dog doesn't need it as it makes the coat a bit stiffer.  You just need to practise putting the coat on.  I put it over the head & then do the front legs one by one, covering the paw w/ my hand so the nails don't snag.

Really good if you have to leave your dog in the car - or if he/she needs to be too still to keep warm (eg; walking on lead).

Another vote for Equafleece. Both my Dobes wear the jumpers out when it's really cold, and my Goldies and Sussex have them for drying off in when they've been swimming or after a wet walk. I've adapted one of the jumpers for an elderly, arthritic Goldie so he doesn't have to bend to get into it, but otherwise I'd go for the jumpers everytime, in preference to the coats.

I have a cheaper and bespoke option for you: Moggz Toggz!

The person makes jumpers and full pyjamas to measure, and all profits go to Greyhound Gap - they are also considerably cheaper than Equafleece and fantastic quality.

Plenty of pics to show them here on the FB group (it's an open group):

Remy and Paige are on there somewhere :-)  Remy's cost me £19.50, Paige's £16.50, both for four-legged full PJs.

I've looked on FB - i must say that as a first timer (with coats), I'm loathe to spend a fortune until I know she'll wear it !!
Just bought three new dog beds - one night and already pup (7mnths) has shredded his!!
I know its only a matter of time before he shreds the other two's beds lol!!
I don't want him ripping her jumper off :o
