Our Rayburn died just before Christmas - dire timing, it heated the house and provided our hot water!
I'm looking at second hand ones to replace it - other options just too pricey. I've found one for sale which has a "balanced flue" - this means it is vented through an external wall. Now my query is, does it have to do this, or can it be flued (is there such a word?) up through the chimney? Any help gladly received - and soon please as it's on Ebay and ends soon!!
Many thanks :)

I know - but the sale of the item ends today! Don't think that Rayburn staff will be at work on a Sunday :)

Oh! :) Well you could ask the seller. They will say yes because they want a sale then check on Monday and if you find out it is not possible they will have to release you from the sale.

Googled balanced flue and it says can be installed with or without chimney I would still check with both seller and rayburn though.
Thanks for the replies. My partner has been googling too and found that the exit for the flue is at the back of the Rayburn rather than on the top so it won't fit the space we have :(
Thank you anyway ..

oh dear back to the drawing board then. Hope you find something soon it sooo cold
Luckily we have a woodburner in the sitting room with a back boiler that heats the hot water and sends tepid water round the radiators. But the kitchen is Arctic! Have to put an electric radiator on for the dogs.
Now it's got colder though, it's not much fun :( And it's a never ending job to chop wood and keep the fire going. Fortunately we have a farm and lots of trees so we're ok for wood. Just typical though, as I had the oil tank filled in November!
