Hi All,

Can anyone explain to me the concept of 'Tellington Ttouch'? I've heard it is a massage/training technique- is it a form of positive re-inforcement and is it successful? Not considering using it- I just can't find very much information about it other than practitioners of it and feel that may be slightly biased info ;)

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Josh
I havnt used it but have heard plenty and also attend a workshop on galen therapy which I think is similar (someone correct meif I am wrong)
I understand  to be for relaxation and destressing an animal particulalry for helping with behaviour problems. As far as I know it is considered very helpful by those who use it.

TTouch is not just massage per se.

Galen Therapy is very different to TTouch, basically it is a specialist muscle therapy, which uses massage techniques, amongst others, to promote muscle function and to treat muscle injury.  I suppose the human equivalent would be a specialist sports injury therapist.  You need a vet referral and vet agreement for Galen therapy, but TTouch you don't.
