Just wondered what everyone's recommendations and preferences are?

Thanks in advance :)

Nutrolac made from Goats milk

I used Lactol for my first litter as do a lot of people in my breed, but I read through several posts on here and narrowed it down to Nutrolac and Welpi for my recent litter.  I can't remember what swayed me as both seemed good, but in the end I went for the Welpi and they did really well on it.  Also used a LOT less than the Lactol as the ratio of powder to water was much less.

How old are the dogs you are looking to give it to?

I give Whelpi when tiny and goats milk when they are being weaned.

Depends on what you mean -pups with a mother or pups without one being handreared? I never give milk to pups who have a mum to feed off, there is no need.

I don't have pups yet. My bitch has been to a stud and I'm waiting to see if she has taken or not. We are only on day 8 from first tie.

I had whelpi with my last litter but only actually used it for mum, so I'm just reading up on replacement milks until I know if my bitchh has taken or not then I'll start stocking up.

Thanks for your replies:)

Royal Canin puppy milk. Easier to mix than Welpi or Lactol in my opinion, you just put it in the bottle and shake. Super if you have to hand rear a puppy as the Royal Canin bottles and teats that come with it are fab, a baby bottle's teat and also the holes in are too big for my breed. 20 odd years ago we bought a dog bottle and teat, the teat came without a hole, you had to diy, nightmare trying to get the flow correct!

royal canine has always worked well for us.

I  usually opt for Royal Canin Babydog and have never heard of Nutrolac but since Brainless mentioned it i have looked it up and much prefer the sound of this so think i will give it a try this time round. Brainless, do you give it to mum too??

Yes I do give it to the girls and it doesn't make them loose, like cows milk based formula tends to
