your best advice usually comes from the breeder , who if any good ,offers that advice freely and likes to keep in touch with their pups and help....

For show presumably? Definitely go to the breeder as first port of call, or get to know people at shows and ask for help (not when they're about to go in the ring of course!). Make sure you never ever clip the back while you're finding out about handstripping and so on, that's the most important. :-)

I saw that the latest edition of Pro Groomer (Issue 8) has a feature on grooming cockers--they have covered both show and pet trims
