I haven't had raw meat delivered before, so i was wondering if raw meat was posted to me how do they keep it cold?

From whom are you ordering?
Is it coming by post or by courier, or is the company delivering it?
When looking at a new SW raw food supplier recently I noticed they post it in insulated boxes. I seem to remember Berriewoods used to do the same. My parents sometimes get smoked meats sent via courier in polystyrene packs and it works well enough if they don't leave it hanging around on the doorstep too long.
My raw dog food is delivered in clear plastic sacks in an unrefrigerated van and even though I'm usually their last delivery of the day the meat remains frozen in all but the very warmest weather! Also remember that pet meats can be refrozen.
Check with your supplier what insulation or protection they use and if they offer guarantees and timescales
I used to buy from raw to go and the meat came in polestyrene boxes. It sometimes took 2 days to reach me (off the beaten track in N Scotland !) but most of it was still frozen solid when it reached me.
Would polestyrene boxes alone keep the meat cold?
yes it did, there were no freezer packs or anything in with the meat

I don't know yet! and also i don't know who to order from. I don't want to buy large qty's as i only have 2 dogs.
Does it make a difference if they send it by post, courier, or if the company delivers it?

That's interesting!

The meat is frozen solid and acts as it's own freezer packs :-)and as someone else has said it can be refrozen if partly or completely thawed and doesn't affect the dogs at all. I often refreeze large recreational bones and they go in and out the freezer several times.

You do surprise me!

We have had two deliveries from Albion over the last few months, the first was in June, and it's all very frozen when it comes. It's not delivered to me, but to my sister a couple of miles away and I've seen the delivery notes/invoices stating the driver must call/text ahead to make sure someone is in... they have always done this... and kept to their delivery times + or - an hour.

A lot of the companies use refridgerated vans to transport the food.
mine is delivered by a courier in polystyrene boxes and it is never more than a little unfrozen on edges if it has been left out all day.
