I've been advised to use plaque off for my dogs teeth and wondered if any of you had used this? I'm just brushing at the moment girls :) dog :( and wanted to know if plaque off is worth its 5 star reviews?

Petzlife also has good reviews.

I'm afraid I didn't see any improvement when I used it, certainly no substitute for brushing.

Once bought the hugest ever container at Cruft's for 2 Bearded Collies.  I used it continually until it was used up.

I might just as well have sent them down to Woolworth's to get a bag of Pick 'n' Mix.

Ok, I'm exaggerating, but would never waste my money on it again.  My vet says it's marvellous, but it didn't work for my dogs.

The teeth that were already white may have become slightly more white, but the teeth that really needed the treatment had no change at all. I didn't feel it made enough, if any, difference to be worth the cost of the Plaque Off.

PO doesnt work, neither does Petzlife Gel - if used as a stand alone.

An electric toothbrush (rotary type - not sonic they freak them out) ....introduced as a puppy, together with descaling instrument will keep canine teeth pearly white.
For already deposited scale, the PLG will soften it enough after a few days to partially remove with a scraper then brush daily while on the gel program.

Thanks for all your replies i will be getting a battery dog toothbrush and some more toothpaste. Might try small tub of plaque off as my pups teeth are only a bit yellow.

Better off with the Petzlife gel in that case...IMO.

You still have to brush/scrap tartar off whatever you use but it deffinately helps get the tartar off better. The plus side for us is a miniscule amount on the dogs dinner every day, is much easier to remember than the dorwest fragaria..which is ok when its is the every day for a month but when it came to the once a week, it was difficult to remember to do!!!

ive put this before on another thread, but my friends collie whos eleven or twelve, had the most appalling breath and brown tartar at the bottom of his back teeth,i d heard of plaque off and he gave it a try(my dogs dont need it,raw fed)and he has continued buying it as it has worked!the back teeth are whiter, and his breath isnt quite so laser ish!Im impressed,God knows how it works!
