went to my daughters and she has a pack of 4 dogs and they are flead and wormed regullarly but one of her dogs can still have fleas after the treatment, and carry on having fleas after the others are clean, she said she can actually pick the fleas off this dog, and she asked me if a dog can just be an attraction to fleas she said you know like some people get mossie bites all the time but others do not, so just out of interest i checked her other dogs no flea dirt, no fleas nothing, then checked the one that she says always has them and yes flea dirt and got two off her straight away, daughter said she is at her wits end i wonder if changing her flea treatment would work they all get garlic in their dinners and are fed raw they are all up todate with innoculations and worming treatments etc, the house has been deflead the bedding washed, and deflead but now she said she is starting to worry about the dog she is the youngest one in the house and she said why her ? so thought i would ask on here any answers please as we are at a loss to why just her

Some dogs certainly seem to be more attractive to fleas than others - but just out of interest what flea product is she using?

I was like this a few years ago when I had an outbreak. Cat brought them home and they spread to all the dogs but my older girl had loads on her. Good blood, I thing.lol. I frontlined the cat, dogs, and house and boiled all the dogs bedding and yet they survived! After the third time my vet recommended Advantage(or advantix, can never remember). One treatment and they were gone. Same when the cat brought some home last month. One treatment worked wonders! I think the fleas are becoming resistant to frontline.
frontline, i told her that i that she might need to try something different i had heard advantage was very good will show her this and see what she says thanks

is she treating the environment, with a household spray with insect growth regulator.
This will ensure the fleas can't breed and no matter how yummy the dog is no new fleas to get onto him.
I think it can also be down to skin/coat type as some products seem better on some dogs than others. Might be worth trying the oral tablet and see if that makes a difference.

I have used Frontline for many years and untill recently have had no problrms, but recently I have not been able to shift the little blighters. My vet has prescribed me "Advantix" for the dogs and like with the "old Frontline" the fleas have gone. This is a POM product and it is working very well.
