Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / How much Pumpkin?
- By dollface Date 08.01.12 15:46 UTC
Since Moose does have the poo's I have started giving her some pumpkin http://www.moderndogmagazine.com/giveaways.
I have frozen ice cube trays (which I have emptied and put in a freezer bag) so about a teaspoon amount worth of pumpkin that I give her.
How often should I be giving her this? At every meal?
It has made her poo's more formed and now she does sleep through the night.
She does seem to be more formed during the day and a lil runny at bed time. I do not feed after 7pm.

Thank you :-)

As she's only a youngster I'd look at the reason for her runny poo - rather than try to correct it with veg.  Many pups remain quite loose until their routines and meal amounts settle down - remember that the poo doesn't have very long to form in the intestine (unlike an adult that is fed twice a day).  Loose poo can also be caused by over feeding so consider dropping the amount you feed at each meal by 5-10g

At 3 months I assume she's still being fed 3 or 4 times a day?  If that's the case remember that she'll need food later than 7pm and waking early is just par for the course.  Loose poo really is to be expected in a puppy that's kibble fed but she'll grow out of it :)

Thanks :-)

Yes she  eats 4 times a day- I also give treats could that cause the poo's. She gets half a dog biscuit and some Cani Source- but I use these for training- she's learning sit, wait, stay and well working on down lol
She's a pretty smart lil cookie :-)
