Hi,

my border collie (9 months old) had uveitis a few months ago when she was a puppy, we think she bumped her eye on a toy. One eye when very dilated and the other very constricted. She was given antibiotics and it all went fine.

Now I have looked and one eye is dilated and the other constricted ago. Her behaviour is fine, she doesn't seem in pain and is playing as normal. She is not shutting her eye at all.

It is night time now but we have an out of hours vet - but last time it cost over £150 and if I am able to wait until the morning it would really help but obviously I don't want to put her at risk. Is this an emergency or not?

Do you have her eye tested as routine ? I would book her in for a testing session  and have an expert look at it .

I ended up calling the emergency vets to ask for some advice and they said if it's ok by morning (which it is yay) then I don't need to go to the vet, and the first time it happened may have made her more sensitive to it happening again. She doesn't have eye routines exactly but she has been to the vet regularly for developmental checks

This may be useful for you to read ,unless your vet is on an eye panel .
