Topic Dog Boards / Health / odd message earlier in regards to a puppy
- By donna0808 [gb] Date 31.12.11 20:10 UTC
hi all i had a face book message earlier from a lady whos husband bought a brown im sure she said cavalier boy puppy on christmas eve,
i will add this puppy was nothing to do with me and ive never even heard of this lady,
she wasnt sure if she had the right person, either
to say that the puppy had a lot of long worms coming form him had diorhera, and blood from his bottom,
she took him to her vet who gave him medicine that made him a little more playful but not as much a s a normal puppy,
and everytime her children picks him up he cries like hes in pain,
she was worried as she said she looked up that worms and children dont mix, and did he have any health issues when i had him
obvious hes not mine and never was, its so strange poor puppy,
i gave her advice i have had a litter before, different dog, so gave her what advice i could
that they is no way a puppy should be full of worms like thta and should have been wormed regularly,
to get back in touch with who bred him, cant believe she didnt even know by the sound of the message,
and to stop her children picking him up all the time hes probly aching too.
sorry if this seems a long post so far i havent heard anything back,
poor puppy been playing on my mind all day

p.s vet gave panacur

Theres nothing more that could be said/done...all she can do is worm him, put him on a good food and maybe stop her children picking him up...he is quite possibly crying because he doesnt like being handled roughly by children...

Poor boy! Sounds like he's sick and certainly shouldn't be handled (possibly roughly) by the children. No way of giving him back if she isn't even sure who the breeder was anymore, not that he would get better care there if they sold a pup in that condition. She could try Cavalier Rescue if she wanted to perhaps give him up?

>and everytime her children picks him up he cries like hes in pain,

It is so very sad that this woman has obviously done no research at all before getting a pup for Christmas.  I could really swear!  :-(

She buys from a bad source, and thinks the pup is a kids plaything.  Grrrrr!!

Wonder how she got your name & number?

Wouldn't surprise me if some disreputable people were stealing other peoples' names and contact details to make themselves look better... they try everything else to defraud the general public, so why not impersonation?

Very recently, my attention was drawn to a free ad where the 'person' was looking to buy in bitches to mate to a stud dog.... the picture ad was my well known Champion dog. I rang her and she had no idea who I was or anything about my dog..she just got his picture "off the internet". Her own dog was the lucky boy..... :-(
It was removed sharpish.

Good grief!! That's disgraceful Tooolz!!Good for you phoning up and challenging her.

As for the puppy, needs regular worming and possibly x rays.I can remember a cavvie coming into the vets and literally screaming everytime someone touched it.That was the result of a poor dietand if the breeder didn't bother worming why would they bother feeding properly? Although dog could just hate being lifted up and depends on howthe kids are lifting the pup up, I've seen vets pick rabbitsupby their ears!!! He only did it once, after that lets just say he knew better!!! I verbally picked his ears up!!

We have found a for sale advert in one of the free sites using the breeds current breed record holder to illustrate.

The dog being sold is female and very frightened (so untypical temperament) and grew too large!  Misrepresentation and Rather insulting to the owner of the dog being pictured.

I have had my own photos used this way, once in another country, by a wel known back yard commercial breeder.

It is far too easy to take pics from the internet and misuse them in order to defraud. The OPs post has aroused my cynicism and I am beginning to see how identity theft could go one stage further... I hope I am being paranoid but I have had an unpleasant idea along that line.

I am amazed that someone has bought a puppy as recently as Xmas and hasn't got a clue who the breeder is so they can go back and complain about the state the pup is in or return it.

I hope the puppy gets better soon and its not Parvo that it has.

I agree the kids should not be carrying a sick pup around and it is up to the parents to supervise any interaction between them regardless of whether the pup is sick or not, it isn't a toy.
