Hi all,

We have a Corgi Cross which we got from a rescue centre last week.  The little mite is 7 months old.  He has cherry eye which popped out a couple of days ago.   It turns out that he has had two previous operations to fix the cherry eye, and we are going to have to get an opthalmic surgeon to have a look at him

Because this is a pre-existing condition, we would not be able to claim on the insurance for the cost of the operation, but would anyone know perhaps what a rough cost of the surgery would be?

Thanks,

AJ

Don't know the cost but wonder if the rescue people told you about the condition when they knew you were considering him.

Was the reason for the pup ending up in rescue the " cherry eye" and its failure to be corrected?

Hopefully someone more skillful does the Op and its done properly this time,is it both eyes with the problem?Never heard of surgery failing in the few dogs I know of who had surgery.

Can't help with the cost, but my Yankee had that in one eye as a puppy, first vet just tucked it back in and it popped out a week or so later. Second vet created a pocket for the gland and tacked it in, nearly 10 years on and we have had no further trouble, so hopefully this eye specialist can do something similar.
