I have recenyly changed from a check collar to a rolled leather one as my dogs hair was being chaffed, can any one tell me whats the best collar for a tibetan mastiff to wear only when exercising as he only wears one when going out, thanks.

Little confused as a rolled/round leather collar would suit, though a half check version would be better if the dog has loose skin/dewlap.

My Cavaliers always did fine on rolled leather when they wore collars fulltime, but now they only wear them on walks I use cheaper flat ones and they don't seem to be leaving any marks.

I agree rolled leather works for my longhaird gsd. In the days when check chains were the thing I found the wore the fur on on side. I have also used a half check successfully as the hang lose when not being on a lead

Hi Amanda,

Rolled leather seems to work best, in my experience.
