Have some left over Swede, is it okay to give it to the dogs...? they eat a complete Salmon&Potato and have lot of raw meats/bones etc , I do give them veg, sprouts, carrots etc etc, don't normally buy swede as I detest most veg, but my husband begged for it today LOL just wondering if its okay for them as i wont be helping him eat it all.. no way not ever NEVER...  :-p

I feed my dogs raw, and also give them a variety of blitzed raw veg which they love. They also love raw carrots and often beg for bits of veg when I am prepping human dinners.

I often include swede in their blitzed veg, so if you have one that likes it, it will do no harm. They will get more nutrients from it if it's broken down in some way first, e.g. cooked, or just blitzed in a food processor.

PS I normally detest swede myself but I found that mashing it with butter & a light sprinkle of grated nutmeg on the top seems to take away some of that swedey flavour, it's marginally more palatable.

there would be nothing to tempt me to eat swede, ewwww i blame my dad for feeding me this horrid stuff mashed with onions as a child , such horrific memories LOL

Try mashing with one third swede to two thirds mashed potato and butter.  I used to love it as a kid. 

Now I love it 2/3 Swede to 1/3 mashed potato, butter and plenty of salt and pepper :-D   Or just mashed with butter and salt/pepper :-D

Eaten with Sausages , veg and thick Onion gravy - Ooooh  lovely winter comfort food :-D

The family love it here -!  (we're a mix of Irish/Welsh and Irish/German - and all swede lovers LOL )

Not a lover of it at all, not even in mash... My girlie loves it frozen, great for teething pups too :-)
