Just having a bit of a chat with a friend about progesterone testing before mating. She is going to go for the Fit and Fertile testing this time as she said Idexx took a longer time to give you the results. Are they the same type of test and what have people's experiences been if they have used both ways of getting this done. She has to get her girl tested as she has ovulated early in the past.
Thank you

It's the exact same test. Umm Idexx get back to you within hours of the receiving the bloods so not sure how Fit and Fertile can be any different?
I am really lucky Fit&Fertile are 20 mins from me :-) i collected the testing kit in the morning, drove to my vet to get bloods taken , drove back to Fit&Fertile to drop it off, got home had a brew , went on Face Book , they rang within the hour and gave me the results..!!!
yes its the same test, they have there own machine now, they were very good and efficient...
Thank you for your replies. So does it cost more to have the test from Fit and Fertile and get your vet to take the bloods, than the vet to take the bloods and send to Idexx?
well it is £23 for the fit and fertile part, and the bloods depends on what your vet charges, my i thought my vets practice was rather expensive at £40 and this was done by the nurse not a vet and with no consultation..!!!!! robbing gits
anyway i asked them what they charge to take bloods and send them away themselfs and they said FROM about £80 for Premate tests..?
i THINK idexx are similar maybe a little more than fit and fertile, someone may be able to say who had it done recently.
best to ask your vet, the cost off drawing blood and sending it away etc, and then drawing bloods and sending/taking yourself..

I have used both places and I was impressed with Fit and Fertile as they were open over the Xmas time when IDEX wasn't.
Thank you for all your replies, she has definately decided to go with Fit and Fertile :)

My vet charges £18 to take the bloods and Idexx charge around £27.00.
