It is my 55th wedding anniversary today and I feel blessed because we are still good friends. He is kind and thoughtful although not quite as gorgeous as he once was but then I never was.

I married on my birthday,thinking OH would not forget my aniversaryLOL Cornishmals I married on my birthday as well and my OH forgets both - not important really there are 364 other days to enjoy as well.

Jackie. Happy birthday & congratulations to you both, have a wonderful day are you doing anything special? 55 years is some achievement, for us would mean I'd be 99 & OH 112 - somehow don't think we'll make it together, LOL! Best wishes & enjoy.
Have a wonderful day, there are not that many people who can say that they still feel the same way after all those years. To be friends is probably one of the most important parts of a relationship, I hope we make 55 but we found each other later in life so 30 has just been notched up! Enjoy yourselves- Congratulations :)

Many congratulations to you both, a lovely heartwarming post to read too - I've always thought that a good solid friendship can be one of the best foundations for a long lasting relationship.
I hope OH & I can celebrate the same sort of time together in years to come, although we really should get married at some point :) Been together for 14 1/2 years but haven't tied the knot yet!!

Well, it is obviously taking its toll, just come in from shopping and when I went to take my ankle boots off I discovered that I have one brown and one black on.
