Hi all, I just had to add this thread because I am soo happy nd proud of my girl that I just have to tell :) :)
All that i am bragging about (big headed I no :)) may not seem like much to people as you all are trully amazing dog owners and really no what you are doing :) But to me it is a huge achievemnet for both me and pup and im happpppppppy :)
As you may be aware I have been doing alot of working with in the house to try and approve some issues we have been having and we have seen real improvements with everything (as explained in my earlyer post), even sitting and waiting for food and walks etc and not breaking the position untill said so which i did not think possible at this stage becasue of how exciteable she is, but i used 'life rewards' to my advantage :)
Today on our morning run we went down a local field. A place i knew would not have any dogs down there as I am close to the locals and pretty mich now there walk schedules (not tht I stalk them or anything hehe). I thought I would go down with toys and treats in toe (even tho she has never been interested in any before) and see how things go :) My aim was to keep filling her (not best choice of word) with nice things and play our little socks off and so when i start training her outside she will have in her mind mummy=nice things so best do as she says (some may not agree with this tactic but it was just an idea and did i did have a theory behind it). When we got down and lead was off (thats why have not started training outdoors yet as have not got training lead yet so i just choose very carefully when i let her off and when i dont) she went running around happy to be in open space and just as a try i thought i would call 'come' and see what happened. She looked and saw I had something and come straight away (never done this at all before but we have been practising this in the house alot), i touched her collar first and then gave her a treat. I then asked for a sit and started to move away (been doing this in house to) saying 'stay' to which she did untill told to 'come again' which she also did and sat and i held her collar for a second and then gave treat. We did this for about 5 mins and then next time told to come she started sniffing something and ignored me so i put the treats away and then after 30secs she came but I did not give her a treat becasue i didnt want to reward her for not coming when asked and ignoring me (does this sound correct). So i alloud her to 'do her own thing' for 15mins and then called for a 'come again ( a bit wary as she ignored me last time) but she come straight away to which i put lead on and treated :) SOOOOOOO HAPPY before she would not have come to me and if we were playing she would not get close to me to get hold of her, so the fact she come to me pratically every time and aloud me to hold collar before treating was an amazzing feeling :) and then we walked home happy as you like :) I still wont trust her atm tho just yet, and will as soon as poss get a training lead so we can go to other places to practise with distractions next, i just knew this place we went was safe to have lead of as no major disstractions there for her. But it just goes to show that all the work I am doing in house is really paying off even tho still early days, and the more work you do in house the more the dog respects you and sees you as in control of situations and so tends to listen and respect more :) I was just so pleased with it all :)

One quick question tho, as i said she sits and waits for things now but when we went to the field I asked for a sit before letting lead of and she ignored me and had to repeat 3times. I no i should have known better not to repeat the command becasue then im teaching not to listen to me first time, but I didnt no what to do when she ignored me and didnt want to give a command and ignore the fact i asked for somethig and did not get it. She did sit eventually and then lead was let of. But next time what shall i do, shall i say it once and then just wait untill she sits wth out saying another word or will that make her forget the command given?? shall i start to walk home when she ignores the command and then turn back roand and go back to the field and try again, shall i go all the way home and try again later or is that cruel or shall i continue into the field but do the whole walk with lead on ??. becasue i no when asked to do something and no response you remove the reward that they want but i can remove a field haha advice would be very appreciated :)

Even though she did not come when you called as soon as she made any move toward you you should call her again and then treat once she comes. The fact that she did not come immediatly will not reg in her head but the fact that you called once she was coming and then was rewarded  will stick. So in her head the important bit was that you called, she came treat followed. Even though you called once she had decided to come  it will still register to her as you called and she came and the treat followed.
Your doing great. As to not sitting once you get to the field you can try turning round if she does not sit on the first commant then doing a little heel work in the field then repeat the sit command. Once she realizes she has to listen first she will soon get it.
