I hope someone out there can give me some information about a diet for my 10 yr Shih Tzu who had Calcium Oxalate stones removed two weeks ago - vet has put him on the Hills  Prescription U/D diet.  I really am not a fan of Hills and would prefer to give him a homeprepared diet, has anyone tried this?

Home prepared diets for these kind of stones can be found in a book by Donald R. Strombeck. I used it some time ago for one of my dogs and found it excellent. There are a few good articles to read about this Vet online.
