now lets go back 9 weeks ago....she rang to say her boy had got to her girl i was horrified her girl is a cross of the breed i have and a smaller breed :( and her boy is a kc of same breed i have...ok so shes shouting down the phone because they have been tied for 15 mins and shes had enough, i told her to take her to the vets to get the mismate jab she said she would....so afew days go by and i dont hear from her i didnt ring her id been busy ,she comes to the house and i ask her if all went well at the vets she just laughed and said she not botherd and was hopeing for pups now i asked her if she had put her boy and girl away from each other while she was at my house (well i couldnt beleve what she said) No he crys to much without her :O so not only is she letting her 13month old girl have a litter but she left them alone in the house while shes at mine ,i went made at her told her she is a selfish cow and didnt care about her animals to be letting this happen!! im a calm person and very nice to anyone but i just couldnt take what i was hearing!!...she went and i cried i even said to hubby thats it i know its cruel but if they ring and need me when the time comes im not helping they will have to ring the vets ,i told her all that could go wrong ....well today pups born with no problems what so ever ,and she was like haha at me ,her poor girl and pups, dont get me wrong i hope nothing does happen and it probly go fine sailing....then theres us, that do everything we can from the start ,nearly loose my girl ,lost pups at birth and within a week of life, ive not had any whelping go pain sailing as such it just make me so sad and angry ....but if i say anything she will just think im jelous and im not!!! im just worried about her bitch and pups now...she didnt feed mum any different she looked like a bag of bones my hubby said the last time he saw her and that was about 3 weeks ago...what do i do?? so this is so long!! x

Drives you mad doesn't it. That poor little bitch having puppies at her age and without all the extra food and care. If she's still speaking to you (not that I blame you for shouting, I would have too!) you can try and point out the skinniness and beg her to feed the bitch more, but that's about it I guess. If she's a bag of bones she'll really be in trouble when the puppies are older. :-(

white lilly, I can't believe she laughed at the poor bitch - she had obviously been mated under a year old.

Surely she can be held accountable from a welfare point of view.  I really don't blame you going mad.  How awful.

Well if she does look like a bag of bones you could always call the RSPCA anonymously.

Kind of makes you hope she won't get them sold, doesn't it -to find out some of the realities of breeding.

It is sickening that those breeding dogs on a whim to make money sail through with no complications and added expense, those of us doing this the proper way with all the relevant health tests meet one problem after another.

Maybe put your second face on and goo over seeing the pups to keep an eye oin them.  Whilst there you could just say hows mum appitite doing to make milk for her pups, bet you don't fancy bottle feeding them every two hours. oh i hope her milk kicks in for you.  That might get her to act properly.

Seeth when you get out the door.

my son rehomed a little staffie x french bulldog who had two litters of pups before the age of 15 months and was a bag of bones, the owners had sold the last litter of pups a week before hand and were actually going to tie her up outside the rspca and leave her. This dog is deaf and so trusting that it was heartbreaking. It has taken a year to get her looking as she should and the vet was brilliant. She couldnt be spayed straight away as he didnt expect her to survive as she was in such poor condition. She is spayed and happy and I get so angry that ppl have litter after litter without any consideration for the poor bitch.

I've felt much like you many, many times white lilly. The only thing I can say to make you feel a little better is that when things are done properly you can be proud of yourself, you can be proud that all health checks have been carried out and that your pups were bred for quality, that you covered yourself financialy for things going wrong and knew what you were doing.

A few years back something like this happened to me via a friends friend she wanted advice after advice to be passed on and it was ignored, she had no finances if her bitch had problems and what happened?...... difficulties at birth, 2pm I had a rampant phone call from this friends friend, (so pee'd off that she gave her my phone number to even start with) I would have loved to have just put that phone down and said it's your problem, but  darn it I just couldn't do it, out I went to help this bitch I just couldn't let her die. I kept calm for the bitches sake, but afterwards boy did I rant and boy was I mad.......... So I know how you feel.

We can't stop people like this and I guess sometimes we are right to wash our hands, myself I can't let a bitch suffer because the owner is an idiot, but that is just me. In your place I'd look after the bitch and forget the friend, but you need to go and see for yourself, ask to see the pups and make sure the bitch is ok, if she is not being cared for properly phone the RSPCA.

What I do know is that I can look myself in the mirror as I'm sure the rest of us can and know we did things responsibly, if people who don't care can still look themselves in the mirror so be it, I just know I couldn't and that is what you have to be happy with. :-)

After years spent dealing with the general public I decided you just can't help some people.........And it's always those people who never have issues!!

A client of mine has 2 entire dogs male and female, both terrible examples of the breed, and yet she sent them to my house in the summer with the bitch in full season saying she didn't know when I told her!! Yeah right!! Bitch's 3rd season at least. Male was beside himself trying to get to her and he has serious health issues and I was seriously worried whether he'd survive at one point. Bitch went completely flat 1 day, then vomitting then diarrhoea. Owner on holiday having great time. By timeshe got back season was finished but by then it had all fell into place for me a to why she'd wanted an early morning drop off day BEFORE she flew out. I think she wanted dogs to mate, possibly claim MY fault and goodness knows what. Just lucky for me I know what to do and what was happening. Dog not pregnant but now not well at all and still not neutered!!! I give up!!

Excellent that your heart is in the right place white lily.  If you do get to see the family, BEG her to have one or both parents neutered - perhaps she'll get so beside herself when the pups become older and messier that she'll see this as a good idea for herself.  It could all happen again very quickly/easily if she doesn't.
