I have used it in the past for the pregnant dam from 6weeks and till she is back in condition and for pups from 3 weeks to 8weeks old when they went onto small breed junior,it worked OK but was hard to get it to go to a mush without soaking for a while as each tiny bit was so hard, I got into the habit of soaking from previous meal and giving something else for breakfast.

Last time I checked it had gone up alot in price so may have to rethink my regime as I now feed my lot on Fish4dogs.

My bitch with pups is on Fish4Puppies small bite. She is shovelling it down at the moment.  I think I paid around £32 for 15kg.  Yes, she is getting far more than just the dry feed, but my toy size pups are going to be on fish4puppies when they leave here.

I always used to feed RC but it got to over £40 for mini junior, and it got just a bit too much out of my reach.

Ive used RC Starter for my last 5 litters - although not until they were already eating lots of raw meat - and only then mixed with meat .

Im very pleased with it. I then switch them to RC mini Junior with meat.

Very expensive I know-  but I win copious amounts of RC ( except Starter) and need to use it up.
Being an international brand it suits me for the pups going to new homes - no matter where they go.

Mine too (although mine is the regular size puppy kibble) I pay £34 per bag, I only add butchers meat (anything else at the moment is giving her the runs) and she is looking fabulous on it, really holding her weight. The pups will also be weaned onto this.

For the food it is, I think it is great value for money (I buy on the breeder scheme).

I have a bag of the starter and it looks the same as the junior, Does anybody know the main differences between them?

I am finding Royal canin very expensive, it used to be half price a couple of times a year so i would stock up, but there has not been an offer like this for ages.

I noticed that today in pets for homes they have royal canin on 3 for 2 £11.62 for 2kg ends early dec 2011

hI everyone. At what age did you start the royal canin mousse. I have 3 orphaned chin puppies 2 days old  that me Cavalier girl is acting as surrogate. All is going great and just wondered the youngest they could be weaned on the mousse

The youngest that I have heard of a hand reared pup being weaned to solids is 10days. You would have to be sure they could lap and chew.

I would ring RC and ask them if there is nothing written on the label.

>I am finding Royal canin very expensive,

I agree Lois.  Like you, I used to take advantage of PAH offers!  Even at breeders rates, I am just finding the 15kg sacks getting out of my reach now.

I had never had anything but praise for RC, and have to say that I raised many healthy pups on it.

My last litter in June 2010 was raised on Fish4Dogs puppy, and my new litter will be on the same.  I am having to make cut backs, like many others are.
