Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / BARF Mentor('s)....who wants to help me?

For about a year now I've read up on BARF/raw feeding however I'm still not sure/confident in switching over.
I know of the many benefits and WANT to do it, I guess I'm just scared about getting it wrong & causing problems for my boys eg not enough of one thing too much of the other, forgetting something etc etc

I have made a bit of a start & for about 8 months once their Proplan has soaked I then add Prize choice raw meats, be it the tripe, beef, chicken, lamb etc but I've since read that adding this to a complete kibble isn't good as obviously the raw digests muuuuch quicker than the kibble & the kibble can slow down the raw digestion causing stomache upsets.
And I've also read that prepackaged frozen pet foods aren't part of proper raw feeding AND then I've also read some conflicting advice, some only feed meat & bones, yet some add veggies & fruit, some add grains, some use suppliments and some say there is no need.

I live on the Isle of Man and non of the doggy people I know feed completely raw, some give chicken wings as treats etc but thats about it.
Getting hold of meat & bones won't be a problem we have plenty of butchers etc.

I'm just so confused about it, I feel & know it's the best thing for my boys, I think most of all my youngest would get the most benefit from it.
Is there anybody on CD thats willing to guide me?

I'm no expert at all but I feed a good mix...
I use Natural Instinct complete frozen packs for the young puppy but also add the prize choice tripe for variety. Mine also gets prize choice poultry necks and heart chunks, chicken wings. I also feed natures menu frozen complete nuggets for variety and some times convenience. Mine also eat apple cores, cucumber peelings, broccoli ends... all sorts

The benefit of a complete raw feed like Natural instinct is that it includes the bone as well as the fruit veg and oils needed. But I think it is £ but I do like it and my girls always look superb on it.

I also make up a big veg casserole and mash it and freeze it in packs to use if I am feeding the prize choice meats alone (when counting pennies)

Don't be afraid :)
