i did listen to a conversation in the local large pet shop a couple of people where chatting about there dogs and the lady said i just bought that bitch i told you about and the owners said she had not long had a  litter but did not say when, the other person did you get the paperwork with her, yes was the reply and then she said so on her next season i will breed from her they are worth a lot of money you know, at this point OH said do not get involved and dragged me away.
The question has bugged me will the kc register this litter  if say it was under a year maybe 6 months
will they register the litter if under a different owner and she said she had no idea that the bitch had already had a litter.
My daughter said to me mam scruples not every person has them.
I know she is correct but just wondering if this could really happen to this poor bitch. I know the lady will breed from her and if she can't get them kc reg just wondering what she would do with them, i know you can't worry about everything you hear going on but sometimes it just turns over and over and you need to ask people you know will have answers.

I have come to the conclusion, that some are just ignorant of what we understand as being wrong. Some will breed back to back and when bitches are far too young. Only yesterday I had an email from a friend warning me that someone local to me, is looking to mate their 16 month!!! I am hoping they wait a year then at least the bitch will be old enough.

Yes, I suspect the litter will be registered

Yes if she's not a registered breeder she can have another litter within a 12 month period

Person in our breed has had 3 litters from same bitch in the last 20 months and is currently pregnant with her 4th litter.
They are accredited / assured and have been for 3 years
KC have registered every litter from this bitch and is published in the BRS every time for every one to see.

Luckily the KC has changed from 6 litters to 4 after December so this will be the bitches last litter. (that is registered of course)

Has anyone officially informed the KC about this? I'm not sure that they would be checking on every litter that an ABS member would breed.

They may not have infringed the rules if their breed is not limited to one litter a year and as the OP says you are permitted four litters.
It may be worth highlighting them for a visit though.

Report them  to the ABS   Bill Lambert. The IT staff just put the facts in a computer , they are not trained to spot the question mark dates

What breed is it millymoo?
It will say here if they cannot breed more than one litter within 12 months.

Surely it's possible for a programme to automatically flag up problem dates?  No training needed, just refer to flagged dates to the ABS team to check out!

The technology exists, but it's no good having it if it's never used :(   and it makes a mockery of the ABS breeder scheme and the KC registration scheme if these things aren't picked up.  It isn't as if someone has to trawl through the registrations manually these days :(

It will flag up anything that conflicts with ABS but less than 12 months/back to back litters aren't univerally an issue with ABS.

Someone routinely doing this may be brought to the ABS breeder advisor teams to check out on the breeder more.  A computer or employee keying data won't pick up on less than accepted/ideal practice.
