normally take to grow back in after a bitch has decided to drop it she is a german spitz, and this year she seems to have lost more than normal she is late for a season only by 9 days so just wondering if it would be worth while entering shows in nov will there be any coat at all looks awfull at the moment.

Be positive, you will kick yourself if the time comes and youre not entered ...and she looks good :-)

Going by my Keeshond bitches they will normally be back in full coat around the time that they would have produced a litter so 9-12 weeks after a season. They will drop more than normal if they have had a phantom, or at certain ages. Having her on a good oil or seaweed supplement will help. Provided she comes in soon she should have something by Buba/LKA time but every dog is different.
Bigger the moult, the better it tends to come back so be excited!

like the idea the bigger the moult the better it comes back, well i am going to enter her and even if she does not have full coat she can't look as bad as she does now.

you know the seaweed is it the same stuff you give to horses ?
we have some from the dodson and horrell range it just says seaweed supplement on it

It quite often is the same, but just check the ingredients to make sure theres no added 'horse' stuff, and it's just seaweed. I use hilton herbs seaweed & rosehip at moulting/re-growth time.

Not known of a bitch dropping their coat pre season and mine don't drop theirs with every season but do post whelping making them look smooth haired instead of long haired, it takes several months then to get back to normal.

Normal for our Spitz breed to drop coat about 6 - 8 weeks before a season, so they look nice about time they are mated and in super coat mid pregnancy.

Start loosing their coat about 8 weeks after litter, look their worst a month later and are definitely not anything approaching showable until 4 - 5 months after pups, and really 6 months they will have a decent one.

yes started to drop her coat around about beg of august and now bald, i have boys chattering and scenting but she is not showing not even interested in any of them not that i want her to be, but it used to be the other way with the gsd used to shed after a season , but the spitz the other way around always before.
