Anyway they said I have damaged the ligament and need to rest so now have it in a sling and its driving me insane!!!!! I am taking tramadol, paracetamol and usuing ibuprofen gel but can still feel the pain ...throb.. throb.... how the heck am I going to groom my beardies????

Poor you, that really is painful. I didn't have the dogs then so grooming was no issue, but I slipped on the ice and fell down several steps on a bridge two days before we left Venice five years ago and that rather distracted my attention from the pleasure of the holiday to put it mildly :(

I am not bad at dealing with pain but like you, I was shocked by how bad it was and how long it took to get better. All I can say is that this is the time to be asking for some favours with your Beardies. Rest it as much as you can in the meantime and hope it eases up a bit for you soon.

Have you tried ibruforen and an ice pack? may numb it enoulgh for the painkillers to take up the pain?
