I found out today one of my horses has cancer of his willy. We bred this particular pony and mum only died a couple of years ago but he is 18 years old! My friend currently rides and looks after him as hes a tad too small for me so Im trying to stay strong for her. Hes booked in for an op next Monday to have it removed and will cost up to £2000 :-( (hes not insured!)

Please send all your prayers and well wishes our way that he pulls through this op. Hes a feisty character so Im sure he will pull through but theres always the anaesthetic worry.

so sorry to hear this, Tracey123, you must be beside yourselves with worry. Sending all the healing thoughts we can straight to your boy and hugs for you as well--do keep us posted as to how he gets on.

Sending positive thoughts;  I am not a horsey person so don't know what treatment is available but they can do so much these days.
Let us know how things are.

I'm sure your boy will be fine - hopefully you spotted this early and he will make a full recovery.  Horse anaesthetics are so good these days, as they are for all animals.

Our thoughts will be with you next Monday

Just had a call from the vets. They have removed the tumour and everything went fine and are waiting for him to come round from anaesthetic. Bless. His pride may be gone now! ;-)

So glad all has gone well and  hope he is not too groggy from the anaesthetic. I think his pride will soon recover, best wishes to you both.

The nurse has just rung me. Hes on strong painkillers but is eating and pooing okay. He barged out his stable with the nurse earlier and took her for a run to the field (before surgery! oops!! - thats his only vice! He doesnt kick or bite but he does barge out his stable). The nurses are amazing at the vets and you can tell they really care. We can sleep a little easier tonight (until we get the vet bill!)

Glad to her some good news, hopefully he will be on the road to a full recovery shortly.
