hi my bc bitch is killing the grass with her wee now i know this is normal but i have seen in pets at home a liquid that you put in the water and it stops the wee browning the grass, just wondering if anyone has tried this and if theres any bad points about it, i dont want to compromise my dogs health for the sake of the grass but would be nice to have some green grass

if you follow the pee with a watering can of plain water that'll stop it killing the grass. I'm really dubious about adding stuff to dogs diet to change acidity of urine as I feel its supposed to be a certain ph for a reason.

Cant remember how old you bitch is but the other option is to train her to use one area of the garden or too
have and area in the garden that is for her and the rest for you. I have found in my small garden the former to be the best soloution

Try 'Bactonature' they have something that can be sprayed on anything that is not effected by water indoors and out. I (when I had a dog) found it worked well.

have heard that a dollop of tomato sauce in their drinking water does the trick! Also cider vinegar, again in the drinking water, helps to neutralize their wee. have tried dog rocks, expensive and saw no difference.

Have two castrated males that burn the lawn, or what remains of it. Tried cider vinegar and tomatoes, neither made any difference.

My lawn is shocking now - I keep thinking that it will pick up but nearly half of it is either brown or just bare earth. I have given up reseeding.
The thing I don't get is that my mum has 2 dogs also - exactly the same as me, a Viz & a russell and her lawn is in great condition....
