My sister has just taken on a rescued ex- puppy farm breeding bitch, now called Ellie. Ellie has the usual reddish staining round her mouth, eyes and paws, is there anything that can be used to get rid of it ?. Also how long will a Bichon's coat grow if it's not clipped ?, she will be well groomed but my sister likes a longer coat, would having a longer coat cause any problems ?.

Ellie's certainly wormed her way into my sisters affections, my adult niece who visits her mum most days can be very allergic to certain dog's coats, she's generally fine with long hair, but my staffies will have her sneezing and snottering within half an hour. On Monday Claire asked her mum " what if I'm allergic to her ?" my sister replied " she'll just have to go back to the rescue " Claire asked her mum the same question on Wednesday, this time she was told " tough, you'll just have to deal with it " LOL.
