Can anyone tell me if these count towards the requirements of classes (Post Grad etc) Thanks

Yes it is any award that counts towards the title of Champion by any kennel club recognised by the KC.

When our dog got his, the ruling with Green Stars was that if won under the age of 18 months, the dog could stay in Junior but after that was not eligible for Post Graduate, and had to go into Limit and Open.

Even Champions can be shown in junior because it's limited by age (same with puppy classes and yearling where available) but as Marianne stated post graduate is a no-no (as would be graduate if classified)

A Green Star counts as the equivalent of a CC regardless of age.  So if a dog has 1, 2, up to 6 Green Stars (i.e. not yet a Champion) it must go into Limit unless of course it is still eligible by age for Junior or Yearling then it can go into it's age class.

No, 7 Green Stars to become an Irish Champion.

so can you gain these in S ireland and Europe?
- By harkback Date 21.07.11 09:18 UTC
No Green Stars are ONLY awarded in The Republic of Ireland (Southern Ireland) and shows under the Irish Kennel Club jurisdiction and this includes a few shows such as Newtownards, Banbridge, and Portadown though the shows are held in N. Ireland are still under IKC affiliation.  So no Green Stars in Europe mainland.

so do you have to win a cacib in europe and how many of those do you need to make ch and does it have to be in different countries?
- By harkback Date 21.07.11 12:53 UTC
CACIB's are awarded at FCI affilliated shows.  The IKC puts on 3 of these a year in Ireland.  To make up an International Champion you need to be awarded 4 CACIB's in 3 different countries under 3 different judges with 1 year and 1 day between winning the 1st CACIB and the 4th.  And a dog cannot be awarded a CACIB under 15 months of age.

For example you could get 2 CACIB's in Ireland, then a 3rd in France, and a 4th in Belgium.
