Hi all
I'm sure I've seen somewhere that there is a ringcraft group in the Gateshead area.  I'm wanting to get involved with one ASAP but the only one I can seem to find in my area is at Seaham - it looks like a fab setup and they have classes on several times a week but it's just quite a bit of a way from me every week.  If I can't find anything closer then I will do the travelling but it makes sense to save pennies on travelling to ringcraft so I can spend them on my puppy :)

Thanks

HeidiJan, for what it's worth, pick the very best ringcraft class you can find--it might not be the closest, but if you really want to do the best by your dog just grit your teeth and see the extra cost as an investment that will make the difference to you and your dog. Not all ringcraft classes are the same. I travel an hour to get to ours and have tried quite a few much closer to home, but they aren't anything like as effective. That could be down to the size of the class, the skill of the trainer and all sorts of things. I know it's made a difference to me as a handler, which means my dog is more confident and relaxed. There will be loads of time to spend money on your dog, but the time to invest in training is now :)

Someone else may be able to help about classes actually in Newcastle - I know there used to be one in Wallsend on Wednesdays, but don't know if it is still on.  However, just south of the City there are a few.  Tuesdays, MyPetstop which is on the boundaries of Gateshead/Washington/Boldon has a  class, Wednesday there is one at Newbottle (Houghton le Spring), Thursday there is one in the Community Centre, Birtley and Friday there is one in Lanchester

There is one on a Monday night at Walker in the Newcastle area.    The one at Seaham, unless I am mistaken is more obedience & agility.  Take it you want showing?  Also excellent one at Trimdon on Wednesdays

Hi,  I know that there is a ringcraft class held at Bowburn Community Centre in Durham on a Thursday night I think it starts at 7pm.  Also, My Pet Stop at Folingsby Park, Washington and Waldridge Fell Dog Club hold one on a Tuesday night at 6pm at Nettlesworth Community Centre, Nettlesworth, Chester-le-Street.  Hope this helps!
