My 3 year old girl, is constantly scratching, no dry skin, although she is out of coat having had a litter in April. Otherwise she is fit and well.
Had a skin scrape at the vets all clear, no dry skin, flea dirt or anything I can find and I have used Malaseb shampoo for the last 2 weeks to see if that helps.
Fed mainly raw with occasional grain free food and nothing in diet has changed.
I am at a complete loss and poor girl is clearly uncomfortable.
My other dogs are all fine and they were all treated with Frontline 4 weeks ago.
Any ideas?
You might also find it's something in the fields/area she is walked...
Malaseb is very strong and if she has a mild case of the itches it might exacerbate the problem. Try a very dilute solution of Hibiscrub instead - the recommendation is 1:10 but I generally use it weaker than that and it's very effective at removing dust, pollens, and other irritants from the coat. You could also try giving Piriton which might help - it works for mine.
Allergies can develop at any time and this is a difficult time of year for a lot of people and dogs. I hope it's temporary :)
