It's a shame for the dogs, but rules are rules, and it looks like they had somehow managed to get into the UK illegally.

Then this paragraph "Would they like to come forward 'anonymously' again and apologise and pay the relevant damages to us, which at the moment is in the region of 8500 pounds (R92 000)? Or would they like their name to be publicised across the entire world?" is simply Blackmail!?!

This lady brought the dogs into the UK illegally on EU passports not UK passports. The person who reported her may well have done so maliciously however it doesnt alter the fact when in the UK UK laws  and regulations apply.

And....

It doesnt alter the fact that conditions in The UK Quarantine Kennels were/are....appalling... presenting with major welfare issues....

Then that should be reported to the authorities and taken up with them.

I watched a slide show of these dogs from the quarantine the other day. The dog described as barking aggressively was wagging its tail. The filthy conditions were a bit of cobweb and dust on the roof ?? One pile of poo and one puddle -with the best will in the world such a thing can be missed for a little while when it's commercial quarantine kennels. The dog eating its own poo was described as having to do it to clean up -well nobody really knows why some dogs eat their own poo, and they can certainly do it without feeling they need to "clean up" and without being locked up.

All looked rather sensationalist to me. Yes, it isn't ideal to stick a dog in quarantine for 6 months, but something HAS been done about it and nobody is forced to do it. What do people really expect from a quarantine? Furnished houses?

Agreed.

Also it is hard to have sympathy for someone who is openly blackmailing someone else. Like the people who create a huge scene and expect sympathy when their pitbull is confiscated, if you follow the rules you won't have a problem. Once again it's the dogs that suffer for their owners wrongdoings.

This is ridiculous. These dogs owners didnt follow the rules...why do they think that they should be exempt and others not?

They were also asking for monetry donations on fb a while back but do believe they are not anymore.

It's a case of being angry at the wrong person, the lady concerned should be angry with herself, she put her dogs in that position it is well known in all countries our policies over here we are rabies free for a very good reason.

I'm very puzzled at how the dogs got into this country in the first place?

I can quite understand her upset two very active BC's shut in a kennel for months would go absolutely stir crazy, none of us would like our dogs taken away for 6 months, but everyone knows UK rules at least now the dogs are in europe and not in kennels, the sentiments are a bit OTT like the dogs are stressed due to the moves, but they are with their owner, dogs are generally fine when with their owner where-ever they go, I dare say it is the lady concerned who is stressed far more than the dogs.

It is all her own doing, no point blaming the woman who tipped people off, she is very vindictive in wanting revenge on this person, she probably believes she is entitled to sue her too **rolleyes** she needs to get a grip and accept this is all her own fault, you can't ignore the law.

But, secretly very pleased the dogs are no longer shut in a kennel
